The voices I carry with me
The artists who stay with me are the ones who can make a small-town detail feel enormous.
I’m drawn to music that trusts a story. A strong voice matters, but the line that makes you stop what you’re doing matters even more.
Country music taught me that specificity creates connection. The more clearly a writer sees the room, the road, or the person they miss, the more room there is for a listener to recognize their own life.
That instinct follows me from music into fiction, coaching, and photography. Every medium is another way of asking someone to look a little closer.
